Move to the head of the comedy class with this year’s hilarious hit comedy, Bad Teacher, coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 31, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day, Charlie’s Angels), Justin Timberlake (Friends with Benefits, The Social Network) and Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man) star in this irreverently funny tale of a teacher with her own unique ideas about educating America’s youth.

Featuring hilarious supporting turns from Lucy Punch (Dinner for Schmucks), Phyllis Smith (TV’s The Office), John Michael Higgins (The Ugly Truth), Thomas Lennon (TV’s Reno 911!) and Molly Shannon (TV’s SNL), Bad Teacher is the laugh-out-loud comedy that’s bad in all the right ways!

Bad Teacher will be available on Blu-ray for RRP £22.99 and on DVD for RRP £17.99.

The Blu-ray and DVD include hours of grade ‘A’ bonus material, including Deleted Scenes, Outtakes and featurettes ‘Way Behind the Scenes with Jason and Justin’ and ‘Raising More Than Funds.’

Exclusively available on the Blu-ray Disc are a Gag Reel, JAMS Yearbook-Hidden Moments Interactive yearbook featuring outtakes with the cast, three additional behind-the-scenes featurettes, plus movieIQ.

Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz) is ruthless, wildly inappropriate and says exactly what’s on her mind. She may be working as a teacher, but her real ambition is to find a rich man to support her and get her out of the middle school for good.

When she’s dumped by her fiancé, she sets her plan in motion to win over a rich, handsome substitute (Timberlake) – competing for his affections with an overly energetic colleague, Amy (Punch), while disregarding the advances of the school’s irreverent gym teacher (Segel). Elizabeth’s schemes and their wild consequences prove that she truly doesn’t give an “F.”

BAD TEACHER was directed by Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard, Californication) and written by Gene Stupnitsky & Lee Eisenberg (upcoming Ghostbusters 3, The Office).

It was produced by Jimmy Miller (The Other Guys, Step Brothers) and David Householter (The Other Guys, Step Brothers). Executive producers are Georgia Kacandes (Syriana, Blow), Jake Kasdan, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky.

One of the funnier scenes in Jason Segel and Nick Stoller’s ”Muppets” script is a moment featuring Pepe the King Prawn, Sweetums and funny man Steve Carell.

Unfortunately, and despite rumours Carell had signed for the film, that’s one of a few scenes that had to be tweaked before it went before the cameras.

Talking to the “Crazy, Stupid Love” actor on his promotional tour down under for the aforesaid film, Carell explained the scheduling difficulties got in the way of him being involved in the Nick Stoller-directed Muppets movie.

“I’m not in the Muppets film”, Carell, seemingly saddened, said earlier today, “It was discussed.. I talked to them… but it didn’t work out, I wasn’t able to do it.”

The very sweet, very sincere Carell was to play himself in a scene, set at Mc Chow’s restaurant, that had himself and several other celebrities (including Jack Black, who is in the film – suggesting the scene might still exist) being presented with a lovely serving of…talking, moving Pepe.

The Muppets are coming back to theaters this Holiday season and it’s a welcome return, as far as the many fans of Jim Henson’s irreverent puppets are concerned.

In this latest Muppet Movie, longtime Muppet fan Walter unites with Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) to track down and reunite the disbanded Muppet gang, in order to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon (Cooper). Hijinks and celebrity cameos ensue.

As you can see from the gallery above, The Muppets are indeed back and intact, and the mix of live and puppet action looks to be as humorous and lighthearted as ever. Some things should never change.

Below you’ll find some fun faqs about the movie (courtesy of Stitch Kingdom):

Disney’s The Muppets is the 7th feature film featuring the Muppets. Director James Bobin makes his film directorial debut. Bobin co-created HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords,” which he wrote, directed and executive produced.

Bret McKenzie of “Flight of the Conchords” wrote and produced three original songs and served as music supervisor for the film. McKenzie fills some big shoes: The Muppet Movie was nominated for two Oscars®: Best Music, Original Song (“Rainbow Connection”) and Best Music, Original Sound Score.

More than 120 Muppets appear in the film.

A total of 12 different costumes were made for Miss Piggy—more costume changes than any other actor in the film.

The largest Muppet, Thog, stands over 9.5 feet tall and is 4 feet wide.

Kermit uses the banjo from 1979’s The Muppet Movie during the “Rainbow Connection” performance in Disney’s The Muppets. The staging of the scene features Kermit on a replica of the log where he was first found strumming his banjo in the very first Muppet movie. Miss Piggy shows up in a rowboat very much like the one the late Dom DeLuise used when he joined Kermit in their sweet duet.

The film tapped 60 dancers to perform with Jason Segel and Amy Adams for the “Everything’s Great” opening musical performance. Hollywood Boulevard was shut down for two evenings to record the finale dance scene of the reprise of “Everything’s Great,” featuring 100 dancers.

The Muppet Theater, built on Stage 28 on the Universal Studios Lot, incorporated parts of the old Phantom of the Opera set into its audience section. The Jim Henson Company gate was turned into the Muppet Studios entrance.

As we ponder how the upcoming season of “How I Met Your Mother” will shake out, here’s a new tidbit to chew on.

Following “Kids in the Hall” alum Dave Foley’s guest role as Marshall’s (Jason Segel) potential new boss, CBS has tapped Martin Short to become the real deal…at least for a while.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Short, who’s known for his hilarious antics but recently has taken on a few dramatic roles, will have a multi-episode arc as Marshall’s boss at an environmental law firm.

The 61-year-old “Saturday Night Live” star has been racking up the small screen roles, with guest spots on “Damages” and the new season of Showtime’s “Weeds,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Forget Jason Segel’s full-frontal nudity in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and his unprintable monologues in I Love You, Man. He’ll be moving decisively into family territory when Disney releases The Muppets in November.

Furthermore, when it comes to his Muppet project, Segel has been far more than just an actor for hire. It’s a genuine labour of love dating back to when he was a kid and grew up with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and other immortal members of the Jim Henson puppet stable. Which explains why he also ended up producing the film and co-writing the script with old pal Nicholas Stoller, who directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

“I cried when they brought out Kermit for the first time he started saying stuff that I wrote,” Segel remembers. “I was just in awe.”

He’s currently on the screen in the comedy Bad Teacher, playing a likable phys-ed instructor who has set his sights on an unobliging Cameron Diaz. That film represents the side of Segel that embraces envelope-pushing projects such as Bad Teacher, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the cult television show, Freaks and Geeks. But there’s another side to Segel: the one who made a four-year commitment to getting The Muppets back on screen.

In the new movie, he plays the world’s biggest Muppets fan, who joins forces with his puppet pals to thwart an evil oil tycoon’s plot to tear down their beloved theatre.

During shooting, Segel quickly learned that acting in a Muppets movie is no easy assignment for the human performers.

“It was very difficult to make. I didn’t quite know what I was getting into, but logistically and technically, it’s tricky. There’s all sort of stuff that I didn’t foresee.”

For example, filming required special elevated sets to accommodate the Muppets and their hidden puppeteers. But, stresses Segel, “it was truly a dream come true.

“I can’t say enough about those puppeteers. Part of their job is to be invisible, yet, in reality, these guys are actors and musicians and contortionists a lot of the time – and comedians.

“It was crazy. Yeah, it was four years in the making, but coming up Thanksgiving time. I think we’ll all be very happy.”

Segel is best-known as a product of the Judd Apatow stable, with its penchant for offbeat and often raunchy humour. The Emmy-nominated Freaks and Geeks, in which he played a wannabe rock ‘n’ roll drummer, was an Apatow project, as were Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Knocked Up, two other releases that won him popularity. But he is also an accomplished screenwriter (Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, The Muppets) who is currently co-starring with Emily Blunt in his latest script, The Five-Year Engagement.

However, The Muppets is very much Segel’s personal project. Kermit and his friends were the biggest comic influence on him growing up, and that he believes there is still an audience for them. Disney thought so, too, when he pitched his idea for a new film to them.

Meanwhile, there is the current Bad Teacher, in which Segel plays perhaps the most sympathetic character in the movie. He’s the stabilizing factor in a school dominated by Cameron Diaz’s boozy, pot-smoking excuse for a teacher.

“It was really fun,” he remembers. “To some extent, I’m a straight man, and I think, in a small way, I’m sort of the eyes of the audience. I’m the one who pops in and calls Cameron on her bullshit, which is what I think the audience wants to do, at times. I kind of got to go in and observe and try to get a couple of zingers in there. That was kind of my goal – just to be natural. It was very easy to act against Cameron and the entire cast.”

At the same time, Segel reminds us that Diaz’s character is not representative of the teaching profession. He holds teachers in high respect. In fact, his old high-school drama coach gave him a valuable piece of advice when he embarked on a professional career.

“He said, ‘Don’t ever forget that the best actor in the world is stuck out there, doing dinner theatre somewhere. So don’t ever get arrogant about thinking you’re entitled to this.’ It stayed with me this whole time.”

Judd Apatow is currently in the midst of shooting his “Knocked Up” spinoff, the formerly titled “This Is Forty,” and thus far, he’s done a pretty good job of keeping the plot details under wraps for now. What we do know is that it will pick up with Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) five years after the events of the first film, assembling a cast of mostly new faces like Megan Fox, Albert Brooks, Lena Dunham, Chris O’Dowd, Wyatt Russell, Ryan Lee, Melissa McCarthy and Annie Mumolo with the only returning actor from “Knocked Up” thus far being Charlene Yi, who played the quirky Jodi. However, it looks like Apatow might be trying to keep some more of returning folks a secret, though photogs on the set of the film may have given it away.

New pictures from the set of the film have surfaced over at The Superficial reveal Jason Segel shooting some physical scenes with Mann, in what looks like a reprisal of his character from “Knocked Up.” As you might recall, Segel played Jason, a roommate of Seth Rogen’s Ben who took a rather creepy interest in Debbie. And while it seems somewhat improbable that he’s now a personal trainer—as revealed by the set photo showing his company ride in the background—you might recall a throwaway line from the film in which he says he’s going “to go make a protein shake.” Could Jason have cleaned up his act? Guess we’ll see.

His appearance certainly bodes well for the return of other cast members (and makes Yi’s appearance a bit more logical) and we’d be surprised if Rogen doesn’t appear at all seeing as how famously Ben and Pete hit it off. Of course, none of this is officially official but pictures don’t lie. It looks like there are still lots of surprises to come from Apatow and crew, but it’s a wait for now. The film is currently slated to hit theaters on December 21, 2012.

The Bad Teacher actor confessed that he weighed 245lbs at his heaviest during an interview on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Segel recalled: “I’m now about 215 but i was about 245. My lowest moment came [when] I was shooting a movie in New Orleans. New Orleans has like, the best food and booze anywhere… just amazing.

“I really took advantage of it and unfortunately my assistant had a key to my room in case I overslept. She came in one day to wake me up and she took a bunch of pictures to show what I had become.”

Segel recently admitted that he was mocked in high school for being taller than his peers.

Bad Teacher opens in cinemas in the US and the UK on June 24
